The Convocation Ceremony will not be held in 2025.

The Convocation Ceremony marks the start of the academic year and provides an opportunity for first-year students to hear from the leaders of the University of Otago and the city of Dunedin. It is held during Orientation Week.

Speakers include the Vice-Chancellor, the Mayor of Dunedin, and the President of the Otago University Students' Association (OUSA), along with a guest speaker.

The Academic Orientation page shows details of times and location close to the date.
