Most international flights to New Zealand arrive in either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. You will need to collect your luggage on arrival at the New Zealand airport you first arrive at, and go through immigration and customs at that airport. From there a domestic flight will take you to Dunedin. You will need to check your luggage back in – your luggage will not be checked through onto a domestic flight. You should book your domestic flights at the same time as you make your international bookings.

Dunedin Airport is approximately 30 minutes' drive from the centre of the city and the University of Otago campus.

If you are a new international student, you may be able to arrange a subsidised airport transfer with Airport Shuttles to take you to your accommodation.
