The UCAT is a requirement of the admission process for Medicine. The score you receive is only valid in the year that you apply, that means for that application cycle only.

Domestic applicants must have a UCAT result obtained in the year of application and have achieved a score in all five of the UCAT sections at a threshold level determined annually by the Medical Admissions Committee.

The UCAT is required for all domestic Health Science First Year (HSFY) students and Graduate Category applicants considering applying for Medicine. A UCAT score is not required for applications to Medicine through the Alternative category. The UCAT is not required for any international students.

UCAT is administered by Pearson, not by the University of Otago. Students can enrol at the UCAT website

Students need to contact UCAT directly if they are having issues with applying or if they will require any disability support during the exam - UCAT needs to be contacted in advance to ensure correct support is available.
