When your course has been approved and you have received an unconditional offer of place, the last step in the enrolment process is to complete the course enrolment declaration, which finalises your enrolment. You will be notified, by eVision alert, when your declaration becomes available.

Completing the declaration allows the University of Otago to confirm your study if you have a completed StudyLink application, as well as ensuring you avoid any late fees, get access to University resources and services, and collect your student ID card.

Check your eVision alert or the Enrolment Deadlines for the due date that applies to you. Different dates will apply to papers that have start or end dates that differ from standard semester dates.

Your declaration will be available from 1 January if you are beginning that academic year. The declaration will be available from an earlier date for Medicine (MB ChB) 6th year and a small number of other courses which officially commence prior to 1 January.

The course enrolment declaration must be completed by the applicable deadline below:

For 2026

  • Summer School papers: 5 January 2026
  • Semester 1 papers: 20 February 2026
  • Full-year papers: 20 February 2026
  • Semester 2 papers: 13 July 2026

Different deadlines may apply to papers with non-standard start or end dates. A late declaration fee may apply if you do not complete your declaration by the relevant deadline.
